Strategy
Melbourne's Bars and Pubs (MBP) took a different tact in its development from our usual way of Apps communicating with the server. We looked at the development of this App strategically. We found out that travellers from overseas were a large part of the customer base of the book. And we knew that it was pretty likely that they most probably had a sporadic internet connection. So we designed to have all the information contained within the App.
Not only did this mean that it could be used offline, but it was fast - blazingly fast. It added a quality to the App to make it an absolute pleasure to use while browsing.
